Scarcity, Urgency, Disconnection

Our relationship to spirit allows us to resolve issues of time and urgency. See, when we center spirit and energy work, we find ourselves in a place of deep clarity and surrender. Our actions often do not match the expectations of society, which are deeply led by scarcity with time and consumption of every living resource.

Look at time, as an example. When we say things like:

👉🏽 Are we running out of time?

👉🏽 Is it time yet?

👉🏽 What time is it?

These three questions are about scarcity, urgency, and disconnection.

Amor, we are never running out of time.

Time doesn’t care about you, the keepers of time are doing a fantastic job. The sun still rises and sets every day regardless of where we are, and she has remained completely and relatively consistent for centuries.

But if you are always worried about time, you are likely not present and available for the messages right under your nose. You are looking at something not relevant to where you are in the world. You have not surrendered to the present moment.

What are the places in your life where you are disconnected? What are the distractions in your life? Can you replace them with connection and presence? Can you change your relationship to time?

It's you who has to change. It's you that has this false sense of urgency.

If you are always in anticipation of time, of not having enough of it, and of the endings, then you can never enjoy the lessons of the process. You will have to change your relationship to endings to grow and deepen as a human being. Urgency will mean repeating the first step of a lesson of your life over and over again vs. growing deeper in the lesson itself.

Depth is preferable as it brings expansion, and with expansion comes wisdom and deeper awareness of those around you.

What is the antidote right under your nose?

Many mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers have told us: Be still, child. Siéntate. (Sit.) Espera. (Wait)

So, have you ever truly sat down, or as my father would say, in his heavy and present deep voice, “To do nothing!”?

To be still and wait to hear the messages.

Those who learn to be still and wait, will be incredibly transformative leaders. Although by then they will not even care about that.

Stillness brings a release of self importance, goals, and moves us to care for the people around us in sustainable ways.

Our story is truly only a grain of sand.

I am learning to do it - to sit, be still, and do nothing. And truthfully, I also struggle and wrestle with it. Or sometimes I just forget because the illusion of self-importance, control or some other story takes hold.

Ask yourself, when presented with nothing, can you truly be there, or do you need the distraction of other people and things?

Your stillness can be felt in a short time of day.  No need for a long practice. Although a longer practice brings benefits, it teaches us short cuts to our suffering.

So remember, time is not running out. The time keepers are very good at their job.  We are running away. We are distracted by the external aspects of our lives and meeting the demands of the consumptive system.

We are running away from our collective abundance and joy.

And I ask you again, how can you change? Ask what is your relationship to time? What is keeping you up at night?
